Back to Olympic Weightlifting: The Real Work Begins
Back to Olympic Weightlifting: The Real Work Begins
Squatober is over. Now the real work begins.
After finishing October with a 435 lb squat, 335 lb paused bench, and 465 lb deadlift, I’m officially back to Olympic weightlifting!
This video covers my first two sessions under Coach Tyler Smith at Mississippi Barbell, as I begin rebuilding my technique, mobility, and confidence following injury.
Days 1&2 highlights:
* Snatch Push Press + Overhead Squat: 70 kg
* Hang Power Snatch + Overhead Squat: 80 kg
* Snatch Deadlift: 95 kg
* Romanian Deadlift: 107 kg
* 3-Second Paused Front Squat: 150 kg (331 lb)
* Hang Power Clean Double: 125 kg (276 lb)
* Push Press 5RM: 93 kg (205 lb)
At 38 years old, I’m returning to the sport with some ambitious goals: a 130 kg snatch, 160 kg clean & jerk, and ultimately a 290 kg total.
The strength is there. Now it’s time to turn that strength into skill.
