Every single day, 22 veterans take their own lives.
Not in combat. Not overseas. At home. In the country they fought to protect. Alone.
That number doesn't make the news. It doesn't trend on social media. Most people go their entire lives without ever knowing it. And that silence is killing people.
Veterans make up less than 1% of the American population but account for over 14% of all suicide deaths in this country. These are men and women who ran toward the fight when everyone else ran away. Who left their families, their comfort, and in many cases their mental health on the battlefield so the rest of us could live the way we do.
And we are failing them.
On November 5th, I pulled a Toyota Tundra 31 miles across the pavement to bring attention to this crisis and to Mission 22: an organization that is on the ground every single day fighting to bring that number to zero.
Not because I had to. Because someone has to.
Mission 22 provides veterans with treatment programs, community support, and the resources they need to fight the battles nobody can see. The ones that don't end when the deployment does. The ones that follow them home and sit with them at the dinner table and wake them up at 3am.
If this video moved you, if this story made you feel something, I'm asking you to do one thing.
Donate. Share. Talk about it.
The cost of a dinner out could fund resources that save a veteran's life. The cost of nothing silence, looking away, assuming someone else will handle it. Is 22 lives a day.
That number only changes if we decide it does.
