Learning Olympic Lifting teatime tales
Introduction to who I am. I am Sam, Sam I am and at 52 I decided to learn olympic weightlifting. I'm not athletic, I'm not physically gifted in fact the opposite. I have a hypermobility spectrum disorder, veer towards hypotonia, have POTs oh and a 90 degree femoral anteversion. I'm the kid that came last in everything on sports day and in PE.
Think I still actually have trauma from the pity clap of each time coming dead last.
So obviously in my 50s I decided to learn a really difficult sport rather than sticking with yoga and Pilates or HIIT classes like a sensible person.
I'm a year in, generally loving it, pretty rubbish at it still but hey in another years time I'll be a bit less rubbish
